Hello,

I'm using Terminal Server to connect to my PC at work. It's a rather
complicated route, first to a Windows Server 2003 box, and then to my
workstation running XP Pro.

Anyway, the connection itself is fine and I can do work, but I get a dialog
box at logon: "The card supplied requires drivers that are not present on
this system. Please try another card."

Graphics performance is also pretty slow, and I notice some frills like
Cleartype have been turned off. I'm using a 1.5M ADSL connection, which I'm
told should be fast enough for this sort of stuff.

What would be causing this odd message? Is it related to the video card in
my home PC? It's an ATI Radeon 9600 card (about 2-3 years old). And does it
have anything to do with the slow performance?

I agree that it has something to do with your vidcard. You may want to
disable some of the video card's "extra" features on your pc at work. Since
your system at home may not be able to handle the capacity on what you're
system at work is capable of, try making it as basic as possible. See if that
works.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

The workstation actually has a FireGL card so it's way better than this
clapped-out old box I've got at home. I haven't done any tweaking to my PC
either -- no overclocking or anything fancy.

However, I think the Server 2003 box that sits in the middle has a horrible
Rage XL card. That may have something to do with it.
