Hi there,
I have a Company laptop that is used hardwired to the Company network but also has an unused Wi-Fi connection. As I do a lot of work from home I want to have the ability to print out documents on my home printer connected to my home computer - this is a standard XP Pro installation. I have a wi-fi router at home and the laptop can access the Internet this way without too many problems. Without wishing to create any other accounts is there a way I can set up the laptop to access my home printer? What steps have to be taken on the home PC/Printer to enable it to be used this way? -- Thanks & regards, -pp- |

On the home PC go to Printers and Faxes, right click on the printer icon and
select Properties. Click the Sharing tab and select Share this printer - a default share name will be entered - write this down. On the work PC click Start/Run \\<NameofHomePC>\<PrinterShareName> ENTER. If the printer window opens, then you can use the Add Printer wizard to add a network printer called \\<NameofHomePC>\<PrinterShareName>.
