I want to put some sort of forum on my organization's website where the
members can post messages to one another. They actually want two forums, one password-protected and the other open to anyone. Do you have anything to point me in the right direction as to how this can be done? Thanks, Wayne |

HI Wayne,
most forums cam do both ![]() all depends on how you set them up.. you can have subforums who are open to everybody and where even guests can answer and you can make subforums who are only available for members... the whole forums concept is expendable like you want... i have 4 forums running and one of them has more than 26000 users ![]() now the forum scripts.. the most versatile and beautifull forum in my eyes are the ipb forums but they cost money since about a year... ![]() you can find them here http://www.invisionboard.com/ a free board which is also very good and which can be modded to your likes is the PHPBB board which you can find here http://www.phpbb.com/ all boards need PHP and MYSQl server and it is just uploading to your server install the mysql tables (mostly done with a script) and begin to adapt the forum to your needs (make forums/ subforums / usergroups / ......) once you get the hang of it it is very easy... hope this has helped Slad "Wayne" wrote: > I want to put some sort of forum on my organization's website where the > members can post messages to one another. The other post regarding the PHP forums are good. If your hosting uses ASP,
take a look at Snitz - http://forum.snitz.com/ -- -------- Ryan "Wayne" wrote: > I want to put some sort of forum on my organization's website where the > members can post messages to one another.
