Default home network problem

Hi All,

I am trying to set up a home network. All three machines use windows xp
home sr2. I have a 2wire dsl modem/router. The main computer is connected
through an ethernet card the other two are wireless. Here is what is going
on. The laptop can ping the hard wired desktop but, when I ping the laptop
it times out. None of the computers can see any of the computers in the
workgroup. I am a newbie at networking and can use all the help I can get.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

Gary,

Both the ping time out, and the lack of visibility, could be explained by a
misconfigured or overlooked firewall.

Look for other possibilities too.

Default RE: home network problem

Hello,

Make sure all of the machines are part of the same workgroup, and that there
isn't a firewall and/or Internet Security suite installed blocking them.
