We recently upgraded our network with brand new hardware (fast server,
firewall, 10/100/1000 switch) running SBS 2003 and all of our workstations were upgraded to WinXP SP2 plus the updates. Since then, a lot of our workstations (including mine) are having trouble surfing the web. The typical behavior is: 1. Go to a website. 2. Click some links within the site. 3. At some point the browser will act like it's taking forever to load the page and then produce a "Page not found" error. 4. You can hit the back button, reclick the link and 90% of the time, the linked page will open correctly. This is for sites that we know work using other systems. In fact, we've done some testing outside our network and the one common thread is that the problem PC's all appear to have WinXP SP2 plus the latest updates. It's almost as if the local PC is losing track of DNS somehow. Has anyone seen this? Any ideas on a fix? -- Tom G. Send replies to tom |att| geldner /dott/ com |
