I have a small wireless network running at home (2 desktop PC's and
upto 3 laptops). I have connected the 2 desktops and 2 of the laptops to the LAN with no problems, however the newest laptop has an inbuilt wireless card and I just cannot get it to see the other pc's. I have run Network setup wizard i don't know how many times, re-named the workgroup and pc but all to no avail. The weirdest thing of all though is that this laptop is able to access the internet via the wireless router (so i'm thinking that the problem isn't a hardware issue). The laptop has been restored to it's 'as new' state with no firewalls, internet protection etc running but i'm still getting the same error message "\\xx is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The network path was not found". I have even bought an external usb wireless connection card incase the problem was with the hardware, but it still won't access the network. At other times the laptop is not even visible on the network, although the workgroup is showing. Can anyone please help? TIA |
