Default Appletalk Required?

Here's the layout: Home network, 1pc(XP pro) & 1 mac running (OS9). Trying to
share the printer... (if I go to network connections, properties, I can't
locate the protocol for Appletalk (XP pro), but if I do the same in Server
2003, the protocol is there and available). Is there anyway to copy the
protocol from the Server2003 CD and install it in XP pro? (as it is possible
to install NetBEUI on a Server2003 from a XP home or pro CD)... Must be a way
around. Found 3rd party software called DAVE that will do just this, but for
the same price, I can simply buy a second printer...
Thanks,
Gilbert
