I've been having disconnects that first show up as a timeout error on my
laptop only to run upstairs and find that my desktop also had low connectivity on couple of occasions. I've unplugged the power to the router then repowered it and then everything works, ... for a while. The laptop uses a Wireless card and the desktop is plugged in to the router with a cable modem. After messing around for a while I'm pretty much convinced that the router is having some problems. The "disconnects" have occurred about five or six times with the laptop and twice with the LT and desktop together. I've pretty much eliminated the ZA firewall as it was running fine for over six months without any issues. Is there a test to check the performance of the router? Going to the Netgear site, the status checks and other settings appear normal but I would like to know if there is some kind of diagnostic tool available for me to test it other than waiting for another drop out. Thanks, Fred |
