Hi,
I have 2 computers: - Laptop ( XP home) -- connected wirelessly to router - Desktop ( XP Pro)-- connected to router via LAN cable I've been having problem connecting my laptop and desktop using the firewire cable. Essentially, the physical connection is ok bcos I can see the active IEEE icon in both computers' system trays. However the problems are these: 1. I can ping the desktop from the laptop, but not the other way 2. In the Network Place > Entire Network > Workgroup in either computer, I can't find the other computer ie they are not talking 3. Even Start > Run> \\computername fails to detect the other computer. I've also shut down the firewalls and such, to no avail. I've tried the various connection options in Network Wizard, also no success. Some folders on each computer have been right clicked to allow sharing Am at wits end. Would anyone be able to help me troubleshoot this problem of connecting two computers using IEEE? Would appreciate v much. Thanks in advance Cheers! and Happy NY! |

Disconnect the firewire cable and try the networking wizard again on both computers. Kerry |
