Default connecting 2 computers

I am attempting to directly connect 2 computers. The one I am having the
problem with is running XP Home. When I am in the New Connection Wizard and I
get to the Advanced Connection Options window, the choice "Connect directly
to another computer" is dimmed. Any thoughts on how to make this option
available?? Thanks.

A direct connection between two computers requires a cross-over cable rather
than a regular CAT 5 cable that connects the computer to a
router/modem/switch/etc. Verify you really have a cross-over cable.

Thanks Jerry. I will check this out. However, I'm not sure that this is the
problem as the other computer (at the other end of the cable I'm using) does
have the "Connect directly to another computer" option available (not
dimmed). [That computer is running XP Pro.]
