Mapped Drive through AD Profile - Mapping changes

Some basics, this is a 2000 AD Domain and XP Pro PC's.

In AD U&C, in every user profile I have selected Connect U: to:
\\server-name\share-name\%username% when I set up the user. I make sure that
%username% changes to their actual user name and creates their user folder on
the proper server and I check rights. On all 5 servers used for this purpose
the share-name is "users". I have about 10 PC's out of 180 that map U: to
Users and not into their personal Folder. This is causing problem since we
store users Archive.pst's for Outlook there and eventually they end up not
being able to connect to the archive. This is not random, it's the same PC's
all the time. So we have 170 that never experience this problem. This also is
occurring with users no matter which server it is that their user folder is
located on.

We can and have disconnected the U:\ Drive and mapped it manually, and also
disconnected it and allowed AD to map it properly. In all cases they tend to
go back at random to map U:\ to Users instead of their user folder.

Anyone seen this or have any sugestions??
