I've setup Internet access via a router/switch on my home network via a cable
modem. Two computers are also plugged into the switch. This setup has been working fine for almost a year. Recently I reset-up the network, redefining the Workgroup name on both machines, using the Network Setup Wizard. Now there accessing the Internet requires sometimes two tries to connect. It's almost as if the Internet connection has to be rediscovered, with a IP lifetime lasting about 10 minutes. None of the router parameters have been changed and neither of the two computers has had OS mods done to them. Any ideas? Note that the wireless portion of the network still operates properly, without this small delay. Computer 1: Win XP Pro SP2 w/ firewall enabled Computer 2: Win XP Home w/ firewall enabled Router/Switch: Linksys BEFW11S4 |
