at my work i have a network of computer on a peer to peer - ont of the
computers - dell hasa intergrated nic card and is installed with a second nic card - about a month ago the intergtrated card appeared to stop working and would not allow other computer to connect to it or allow connection to the internet. so in this case i changed the cable to the other nic that was on the computer - this was fine for a couple of weeks and then the same thing happened again - thought might be viruse /spyware - did full checks - nothing today i did a full reinstall of the operating system and wiped hard disk however still get the same problem and even though i get activity light on the respective nic cards - there is still no connect to either any computer or the internet. another things is that this computer used to connect to the internet through another computer - when i run networking wizard on my computer which is not working using the intergrated nic card it does no recognise the ICS computer - however when i swap the cable to the other NIC on the computer and run the network wizrd again it reconisezs the ICS but wont allow me to broswe the web. so i have swaped the cables which did not resolve the issue - reinstalled the operating system - which did not resolve the issue and both nic have both failed to respond within 1 week which i find very stange. so i know that this is a long problem - is thereany software which will thorougly test nic apart from the networking tool on windows xp - as it is weird for both cards to fail within a short time of each other thanks |

I have the exact same issue with two pc at home. The network was running fine until I rebuilt them, now I just get low connectivity errors and when I try to repair it it fails. Apparently this is a bug in sp2, I tried some fixes but none worked. I am going to try setting up the network before installing sp2 to see what happens. If you have found a fix please let me know. Regards.
