Network Not Working

Default Network Not Working

Have 2 computers 1 is connected to the router by a network cable the
other uses a wireless connection both can access E-Mail & the Internet
computer 1 is able to ping the router & the the laptop but can not ping
its own IP Addresss times out tried uninstalling NIS 2006 did not mater
no network Windows firewall turned off did not see the network tried
with the modem turned off & NIS 2006 uninstalled & Windows Firewall off
no difference
I am listing a copy of Browstat & ipconfig for both machines have been
to pchucks site followed his troubleshooting steps to no avail so I post
here & ask for any help that can be offered

Glenn,

One of the most common causes of the "Browsing is not active on domain..." error
would be a misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall, but there are other
possibilities too. Do you also have NAV? Check for worm protection.

Yes is part of NIS I am not sure how to disable this but will try & post
back
