Do I read the bulletin correctly -- the security flaw doesn't affect
you if you have no image types registered to Windows Image and Fax
Viewer?

Download the patch, Stan, don't nit pick.

Unregister the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer (Shimgvw.dll)
[[Note This workaround is intended to help protect against Web based exploit
vectors and is not effective against exploits that have Windows Metafile
images embedded in Word documents and other similar attack vectors.]]
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec.../ms06-001.mspx

The above sentence sez "help protect against" and "is not effective
against... other similar attack vectors".

I downloaded the patch and I am a little safer until the next threat comes
along.

Download the patch!
