No...something was wrong.
My wife was unable to modify files in the folder ("Shared Documents"), though she was able to create her own. I corrected the problem by changing the "SIMPLE FILE SHARING" attribute in Explorer>Tools>Folder Options>View This gave me an administrator control more like I would expect from Win2000. Indeed she did not have FULL CONTROL. I've corrected this, and everything seems to be working fine now. Thanks for the resopnce. -wynn --------------- "Rick "Nutcase" Rogers" wrote: > Quite normal. Betcha the folder still shows as 'read only'. What you corrected were
permissions, not attributes. The former is the source of the problem, the latter had nothing to do with it. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Associate Expert - WindowsXP Expert Zone www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone Windows help - www.rickrogers.org "wynn" <wynn@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:CFE6E87D-38DB-469B-A845-B7EAA1F38BA5@microsoft.com... > No...something was wrong. > > My wife was unable to modify files in the folder ("Shared Documents"), > though she was able to create her own. > > I corrected the problem by changing the "SIMPLE FILE SHARING" attribute in > Explorer>Tools>Folder Options>View > > This gave me an administrator control more like I would expect from > Win2000. > Indeed she did not have FULL CONTROL. > > I've corrected this, and everything seems to be working fine now. > > Thanks for the resopnce. > > -wynn > > --------------- > > "Rick "Nutcase" Rogers" wrote: > >> Quite normal.
