Default what is that window?

When I start my PC, I see a small window which appears momentarily over
my desktop during the startup process and then disappears. I wish to
know what it is and what it says. How can I know this? (I am using
Windows XP Pro).

It's likely a splash screen for one of your applications that you have
running on boot. Which? I haven't a clue without more information. However
see below for more information on how to determine this on your own:

Is it a console terminal window (i.e., looks like a DOS shell window)? If
so, maybe it is a login script executing whatever commands your domain admin
wants to have executed on your host when you log into their domain. Talk to
your domain admin to ask them about it. Some enterprise-level anti-virus
programs also use a console shell to update themself.
