When I try to go to my control panel, it pops up with a error that says...
"Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." ...i then has a button to send a error report. I have run Norton virus and spyware removal and it didn't find anything. What now? Thanks |

Panda Software free Active Scan, where you can check your PC for ALL TYPES of security threats and clean viruses and worms Also scan with your Norton (updated) and with your antispyware software(updated) Then you may try repair install of your Windows ,but before that create a back-up of all your data (if you do not know how to repair Windows, you may take your computer to a computer store where IT specialist would help you ) Panda_man " Let's beat malware black and blue" " No new epidemic of all kind of malware -> Panda TruPrevent" "Farrago" wrote: > When I try to go to my control panel, it pops up with a error that says... > > "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. Panda_man,
I tried all of that except a "repair install of your Windows". How do you do that? I did a install of windows and I selected "upgrade". It didn't fix the problem. All this makes me miss my Mac. I never had any problems. I only switched because some web pages that we HAD to use (that use Microsoft's ASP server software) were not Mac compatible (because Microsoft doesn't make IE for MAc anymore). |

Restore the Control Panel Hope this helps. |

Start-Turn off Computer
Select Restart and immediately insert the CD with Windows Then your Windows will boot from the CD and then follow the instructions to repair without formating the hard drive. Well,I find it difficult to be explained and that's why I told you to take your PC to a professional PC store where IT specialist would help you. I have the same problem and tried Kelly's tweak. When I ran it, I kept on
getting the allow script pop-up over and over again with no end. I checked, "remember this action", but it still persists. Any other ideas.. I hate using the control panel due to this problem.. Would really need some more help on this also.
