Sorry about that. If it's a BIOS password it will ask for the password before Windows starts to load and you will have to enter your BIOS to clear it. This is usually done by removing the "watch battery" on the motherboard for several minutes. Otherwise you will probably have to get information from the people from whom you purchased the computer. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE Please respond in Newsgroup only. Michael,
When I use F10 on startup I get a window that asked for which OS I want: - Windows XP Pro - Windows Revovery Console These are the choices. When I press F8 I go to a larger menu called: ADVANCED OPTIONS MENU The choices do not include what you mention above. They are: Safe Mode w/ command promt Safe Mode w/ networking Enable boot Logging Last Known config Start Window Normally Reboot Return to OS choices If I choose any of this I go back to that advanced page where the choices are XP or Recovery Consule. Was in the eye of Hurricane Wilma so it's taken me a few days to get online and power, but what you described I can't seem to duplicate. |

I selected the recovery console. If I choose XP, it launches to the OS
on board. |
