Default HELP HELP HELP!!!!!

System:
WIN XP SP2
768 MB RAM DDR SDRAM 166MHz
AMD Athlon 1.66 GHz
3 Seagate 80 GB HD, with 80 channel cables

Original Problem:
When trying to run different programs, I would intermediately get the
error that the program was not able to write to different memory
locations. And then would ask if I would like to send the error to MS
to debug. I send it, but no solutions from MS.

Thinking I might have mal ware, I ran Ad-Ware, Spybot, and even went
to Symantec and Panda and ran their tests. No problems. Ok, maybe
something in the registry. Ran a registry program, no problems found.

Ok, maybe files corrupted or deleted.
Did a repair with CD.

Now changes, went to www.drivershq.com and checked for drivers.
Updated what needed to be done.

Now I have the problem when I run different programs, that could be MS
Word, Free Agent, Firefox, IE, does not make a difference. I get
(sometimes) a beep and instant shutdown.

When I reboot, there is no error codes and everything works fine till
the next reboot. There is no indication that the PC is shutting down.
Once in a great while, I will get a quick frozen screen and then it
shuts down. Shut down not reboot.

I need to get this system up fast as I need to finish my school work
for tomorrow (Monday).

Any help, suggestions or ideas are welcome. I really don't want to
have to wipe out the system and start again.

Thanks for any help.

Thanks Shenan,
I did run a memory test program on it and it came out out. It was the
mem86test for DDR. After 20 passes, thier were no errors. However,
that was one of the first things I did think of.
Do you think it still can be the culpret?
