Default USB Ports

G´day All,

I have a computer here in the office. That when I connect something to the
USB ports it goes through the guff of finding the object and adding the icon
to the bar at the bottom of the screen etc...but then in windows explorer
there is no item to select so I can copy files to it etc. I have tried my
camera, a usb memory stick, always the same.

Is there a setting somewhere or something Iam missing??

Any help would be appreciated,
Scott V

On occasion my trusty USB device doesn't immediately show up in My Computer
when I plug it in. When that happens I press F5 to refresh the window, and
there it is.

Networked, with connected to disks on the net? A USB-disk, when connected
the first time, always takes the first "free"drive letter after CDs abd HDs,
but if that letter is already used up by a network disk, it won't be seen in
MyComputer etc...

To see it, try Start->Rub "diskmgmt.msc" , (maximize window), is it in the
right hand graphics part? If so, Rclick on it and change drive letter to an
unused one...
