Default AOL Instant Messenger

My kids have AOL Instant Messenger installed onto the computer and programmed
to have it start up every time they log on to their name. Recently, one of
them went on under my name and now everytime I log on to my name AIM starts
up, asking for my name and password. How do I change this so that AIM doesn't
start up everytime I log on?

AOL uses proprietary software so you'll have to contact AOL for assistance.

Right click on the little man in the system tray and select options
or preferences or something like that. (Sorry, I've done this for
friends on their computers but it's been a while.) If you look at all
the settings you'll eventually find the one that says "start when
Windows starts" or similar. Uncheck it, carefully click OK.

Then you can right-click the icon again and select Exit or Log Off or
whatever it is.
