I have installed xp and found that I don't have excel or word. These were
both on my windows 98 and office 2000. Can I install excel and word from these disks? |

Yes you can. Word 2000 and Excel 2000 should work fine.

Maybe or maybe not. If Office 2000 came with a computer then you cannot transfer it to a new computer.

From which disks? Excel and Word are not on a Windows XP CD. You will need
either a Microsoft Office CD or individual MS Word and Excel installation CDs. -- Harry Ohrn MS-MVP [Shell\User] www.webtree.ca/windowsxp "T. G. Neither Windows XP, nor any other version of Windows, has ever included Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, or any other significant application software. Such programs have to be bought, either by themselves or as part of Microsoft Office. If your previous computer, running an older version of Windows, came wit Word and Excel, it was because the vendor who sold it bundled them as part of the package he sold you, not because that version of Windows came with it. You cannot transfer OEM versions to another computer. That includes Office.

If you need word proccesing, spread sheet or any other general office software and yet don’t want to pay for it, OpenOffice is for you.
