The new icon is Microsoft's AntiSpyware (Beta) program. A Microsoft
technician had me download it a couple weeks ago. I think, however, that McAfee is what causes the boot to take so long, but I'm just guessing. Jeannine |

Any program, including McAfee, could be doing this. Unfortunately, McAfee is not one that you want disabled. It may be that your particular mix of software is just "finicky" when it comes to getting the tray loaded and that your best solution is to continue using the workaround you've discovered. If you do decide to go ahead with reviewing startup items, there are sites online that help to match up the names of startup programs to the main programs.
