So when yuo go to the root directory ("C:\") and dbl click or try to open
"boot.ini", the computer tries to access the "A" drive? It doesn't not actually open the file. Wes:
Thanks for your reply. I went to web site you mentioned. I processed all of the options listed. Nothing changed. On option 8 listed on the web site, I set PC to boot first to drive C. I have a HP Pavillion computer and the Boot Section does not show an option to turn off floppy drive seek at boot. I am wondering if accessing floppy drive is peculiar to HP computers. For Dixionian69. No floppy disk was in the drive and I am getting no error. Thank both of you for responding. -- Lavert Y Bryant Powder Springs GA 30127 "Wesley Vogel" <123WVogel955@comcast.net> wrote in message news:uzqSiNc%23FHA.1312@TK2MSFTNGP09.phx.gbl... > See this. > > Floppy Drive - Is Active > http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_f.htm#xp_floppy > > -- > Hope this helps.
