So when yuo go to the root directory ("C:\") and dbl click or try to open
"boot.ini", the computer tries to access the "A" drive?

It doesn't not actually open the file.

At the same time floppy is accessed the file is opened. It even accesses
floppy when I click on file and then close. Thanks again.

is there a floppy in the drive?

if not, i would think you would get an error.

Wes:

Thanks for your reply. I went to web site you mentioned. I processed all
of the options listed. Nothing changed. On option 8 listed on the web
site, I set PC to boot first to drive C. I have a HP Pavillion computer and
the Boot Section does not show an option to turn off floppy drive seek at
boot. I am wondering if accessing floppy drive is peculiar to HP computers.
For Dixionian69. No floppy disk was in the drive and I am getting no error.
Thank both of you for responding.
