I have a Scanjet IICX that worked fine on 98 and ME. It is a SCSI board
scanner and comes with the HP400 (non plug and play) board. I cannot get XP to recognize this board. Has anyone installed this board and scanner on XP Pro and if so, andy suggestions to allow me to do the same. Thanks, -- Scott |

Have you tried visiting HP's Help & Support to see if there is a driver or
something for WindowsXP that you need to download from them? I had the HP ScanJet IIcx SCSI scanner connected to an Adaptec card and running under Windows 2000 and later under Windows XP. If you are using some cheapie scanner-supplied SCSI controller card, you'll probably need the driver for that, too, as Windows may not have the driver for that low-function card whose primary purpose is to just handle the scanner. |

I understand an Adaptec PNP 2906 card will work so I guess that is my next
mover. Being cheap like a lot of others I was attemtping to use the HP400 non PNP card supplied. The scanner is just good a unit to leave it for an USB unit and none of them seem to have the quality or construction of the scanjetII cx. Thanks for your response. -- Scott "Vanguard" wrote: > "Scott" <Scott@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:F6A23C7D-EC35-463F-A6C5-BD754AD4673B@microsoft.com... > >I have a Scanjet IICX that worked fine on 98 and ME. I don't remember if it include a driver for the cheapo minimum function SCSI card but it might. When you install, one of the selections is whether you use the included SCSI card or something else (so I'd pick something else since I used an Adaptec AHA-2940UW). Deskscan is free so just see it it gets the scanner working. I kept the Scanjet IIcx for many years although there were scanner with much higher resolution. It is a legal-sized scanner. However, over the last 5 years, I haven't needed to scan legal-sized documents much anymore and I can use stitching with a smaller scanner. Eventually I got rid of the behemoth Scanjet IIcx that occupied a third of my desktop and got one that will I can put out of the way in a drawer. |
