Default HP 9100 i.9100b CD RW/ROM

I have an internal HP model 9100 CD/RW that worked fine on 98 and ME but will
not work correctly on XP Pro. I get errors indicating that MyCd or DirectCD
won't work with XP. Has anyone installed this device on XP and if so, please
advise how it is done. Thanks,

You are trying to install older versions of burning software that are
incompatible with XP. Either go to the store and buy new burning
software that will work with XP (anything you buy now will do this) or
use XP's built-in burning capability for simple projects.

I hap planned on buying Nero anyway instead of the HP supplied software.
Unfortunatley, the XP driver has been replaced with the older HP Driver. I
have not tried the uninstall driver to revert back to the origianl but have
all intentions of doing this. Thanks for your response
