I don't think it's evil. You can disable it with a third-party utility, such as the freeware SharpKeys, at http://www.randyrants.com/sharpkeys/ I don't mind the Windows key, but I use SharpKeys to disable both the Insert key and the Caps Lock, neither of which I ever want to use, and both of which I sometimes hit by accident. -- Ken Blake - Microsoft MVP Windows: Shell/User Please reply to the newsgroup |

I happen to like the Microsoft key for shortcuts, but when gaming, it can be
a real pain. I have 2 of those keys on my keyboard, one on each side of the space bar. I took a screwdriver and popped the left one off the keyboard which solved the problem with games, but leaves the right one functional for when I want to use it. Wesley
I always find disabling the Windows key so rewarding.. if ever my mouse freezes it prevents access to START - TURN OFF COMPUTER - RESTART.. of course, I can always use CTRL- ALT - DEL, wait for Task Manager to appear, followed by ALT F, and then a quick mess with the 'right' arrow to get to SHUTDOWN, and then another quick mess with the 'down' arrow to get to RESTART.. Oh, the joys of multiple choice.. -- Mike Hall MVP - Windows Shell/User "Wesley Vogel" <123WVogel955@comcast.net> wrote in message news:%23PoJQdT$FHA.3804@TK2MSFTNGP14.phx.gbl... > 9. Mike,
I sometimes offer no warnings. I only post what the OP wants. They know better than I do about most things anyway. ;-) -- Hope this helps. Let us know.
