You haven't provided enough information to get focused troubleshooting. Here is a link explaining what you should include in a good newsgroup post: http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm In the meantime, here are some general things to check: 1. As always in troubleshooting, start by asking yourself, "what changed between the time things worked and the time they didn't?". 2. Check your resolution by looking at the Settings tab in the Control Panel Display applet. For a 17" monitor, 1024x768 is a common resolution. 3. If you installed drivers for your video card from Windows Update (or someplace else), roll back the drivers: How to Roll Back a Device Driver - http://tinyurl.com/86yb6 4. Reinstall your video card drivers. Get them from: a. The device mftr.'s website; OR b. The motherboard mftr.'s website if hardware is onboard; OR c. The OEM's website for your specific machine if you have an OEM computer (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.). Read the installation instructions on the website where you get the drivers. Aside from that, if you need more help post back with details per the "good post" link I gave you. Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!" You are probably running at a very low resolution, like 800x600. Right-click on the Desktop, choose Properties, then change it on the Settings tab. If you can't increase the resolution there, you are probably using an incorrect driver for your video card. Identify your card, go to the manufacturer's site, and follow their instructions to download and install the correct driver. -- Ken Blake - Microsoft MVP Windows: Shell/User Please reply to the newsgroup |
