Default Windows Explorer - View Choices

When I place the cursor on the root C: icon and click View | Arrange icons,
I get four choices: Name, Size, Type, and Modified

But if I do the same on any subsidiary folders, my only choices are Name,
Size, Modified and Attributes.

As it happens, I want to sort the contents of a particular folder, which
contains several hundred files, by file type. How can I best do this?

Default Re: Windows Explorer - View Choices

Right-click a column header, check 'Type' then click the column header
'Type' to sort on this column.
