Hi Chelsea,

All you should have to do is tell Windows what application you want to
use for email. Right click on the IE icon on the desktop and select
Properties - Programs Tab. Set E-mail, Calendar, and Contact list to
Outlook.

You may want to use OE to read newsgroups rather than using the Web
interface as you are now.

No. Outlook Express is part of Internet Explorer and Internet Explorer is
part of Windows. Do not attempt to remove it.

That's fine. I do the same. But there's no need to try to get rid of Outlook
Express to do that. Except for using a small amount of disk space (60K, well
under a penny's worth), it's being there uinused doesn't hurt you in any
way. In fact, you may want to use Outlook Express for its newsreader
functions, rather than use the the slow, clunky, error-prone web interface
you're using. See

Removing Outlook Express via Add/Remove programs only removes the icon, so
it has very little use, and no gain. I would not bother.

Next to that, Outlook Express makes a decent newsgroup reader, outlook does
not. So you might want to keep it to read these answers.
