Hi Chelsea,
All you should have to do is tell Windows what application you want to use for email. Right click on the IE icon on the desktop and select Properties - Programs Tab. Set E-mail, Calendar, and Contact list to Outlook. You may want to use OE to read newsgroups rather than using the Web interface as you are now. Do not attempt to remove it. > i am now using outlook as my e-mail > client. That's fine. I do the same. But there's no need to try to get rid of Outlook Express to do that. Except for using a small amount of disk space (60K, well under a penny's worth), it's being there uinused doesn't hurt you in any way. In fact, you may want to use Outlook Express for its newsreader functions, rather than use the the slow, clunky, error-prone web interface you're using. Removing Outlook Express via Add/Remove programs only removes the icon, so
it has very little use, and no gain. I would not bother. Next to that, Outlook Express makes a decent newsgroup reader, outlook does not. So you might want to keep it to read these answers.
