Default Sharing Mac->PC & PC->Mac

Hello Group,

I would like to share mu WindowsXP with a Mac running Tiger as well as
share my Tiger with XP. This would include accessing an HP printer
hooked up to my Mac from the PC.

Thanks for any insight.

[assuming the printer is already setup and configured on the mac to print
locally, and that you've shared the folders on the Windows machine that you
wish to share]

Turn on Windows sharing on the Mac (required to allow Windows to see files
and printers)
On the mac, open system preferences, sharing.
On the services tab, tick Windows Sharing, and follow the instructions (you
need to enable at least one account to share).
Click Show All.
Click Print & Fax so the print config window appears.
On the Sharing tab, tick Share these printers with other computers.

To connect to shares on the Windows machine from the Mac, in finder, open
the Go menu and click Connect to Server.
For server address, type in smb:// and then the IP address of the windows
machine (e.g. smb://10.1.1.1) .
Click the Plus sign (+) to add this connection to favourate connections and
save yourself a bit of typing later. Click Connect and follow on screen
prompts for username and password if required.
