system restore won't restore and add or remove programs has lost the option
to remove or change programs.
i run xp home sp2, i have norton nis 2006, microsoft antispyware and spybot.

Unfortunately it sometimes gets corrupted. When it does, all you can do is
turn off System Restore, then turn it back on. That causes the loss of all
your restore points, but they're not usable anyway.
