The Scheduler problem is said to be addressed in SP3. Any idea when
that's due out? Running scheduled tasks manually is getting to be a pain - Mike |

I did read a small note in some computer magazine that the 'supposed' SP3
would not be released until Windows Vista was launched in late 2006. How true that is, is anyones guess. Does SP3 actually exist at the moment? -- John Barnett MVP Associate Expert http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org The information in this post is supplied "as is". No idea; just concerned that there is a known problem with XP-Home and
the scheduler and they said "fix in next patch", so I was hoping it would be soon - Mike On Sat, 24 Dec 2005 15:42:58 -0000, "John Barnett MVP" <freelanceit@mvps.org.NOSPAM> wrote: >I did read a small note in some computer magazine that the 'supposed' SP3 >would not be released until Windows Vista was launched in late 2006. SP3 hasn't even been offically announced, let alone a date set for it. -- Ken Blake - Microsoft MVP Windows: Shell/User Please reply to the newsgroup |

Michael, other than the pc magazines, and a lot of that is mere speculation,
there is nothing being beta tested as SP3. I'm not saying that internal testing isn't being carried out, but the 'open' beta testers haven't seen or heard anything yet, well i haven't, anyway. At the moment, for the Windows team, Windows Vista is more important than service packs, so i would assume that, maybe, just after the release of Vista would be about right for a further Windows XP patch. -- John Barnett MVP Associate Expert http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org The information in this post is supplied "as is".
