I don't have a MP3 player myself so I might be wrong, but have you tried
looking at the manufacturers website, perhaps you need special software of
drivers to get it working.

The easiest and the most stupid would be if you just copy/paste the music
files (mostly MP3 format)
If you copy them you'll save their space.

I my self use Windows Media Player 10 for my player. It is Microsoft product
and you have a version on your computer but check if it is the latest.Version
10 is the latest.
How to check :
Start-Programs-Windows Media Player -> Then click Help - About...

and see

If you do not have Windows Media Player 10 ,download it from here and then
install it .
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...0/default.aspx

When you are ready with this ,plug in your Mp3 player .Create a playlist
with Windows Media Player and put all the music you want to copy there. Then
open Media Player ,click on Sync and follow the instrctions.
Using Media Player will allow you to conver the MP3 format into another so
you'll save some space for more songs.

Hope I can help you !
Nice holidays and new Year !!!
