Default Backup files too large for CD

My backup files total 1.08 GB and are too large for my CD,
How can I get the backup utility to fill up one CD, and then request a
second CD to write the additional data on.

How can I get the backup utility to split the 1.08 GB backup files?

How can I select only certain files (smaller size) to backup to my CD?

Thank You,
Ray10X10

Don't use windows backup for any reason.
Avoid using multiples of same media for large backups.
Use media that can accomodate entire backup.

What needs to be backed up? The possibilities span the gamut
from creating an image file of the entire partition or hard
disk to select files. For the former, creating a disk image
with a suitable application (e.g., Acronis DiskImage) will
either compress the material to fit on to 1 CD (not advised)
or span it across several. OTOH, using a CD writing application
(e.g., Nero, Roxio, etc.) can be better used for selective back
ups. Above all, backing up to at least 2 different types of media
is always recommended, especially when data compression occurs.
