My backup files total 1.08 GB and are too large for my CD,
How can I get the backup utility to fill up one CD, and then request a second CD to write the additional data on. How can I get the backup utility to split the 1.08 GB backup files? How can I select only certain files (smaller size) to backup to my CD? Thank You, Ray10X10 |

Don't use windows backup for any reason.
Avoid using multiples of same media for large backups. Use media that can accomodate entire backup. -- Jonny "Ray10X10" <vacantlot.com> wrote in message news:7283A2D2-B516-4090-8414-6E2D22AC0AC2@microsoft.com... > My backup files total 1.08 GB and are too large for my CD, > How can I get the backup utility to fill up one CD, and then request a > second CD to write the additional data on. > > How can I get the backup utility to split the 1.08 GB backup files? > > How can I select only certain files (smaller size) to backup to my CD? > > Thank You, > Ray10X10 |

The possibilities span the gamut from creating an image file of the entire partition or hard disk to select files. For the former, creating a disk image with a suitable application (e.g., Acronis DiskImage) will either compress the material to fit on to 1 CD (not advised) or span it across several. OTOH, using a CD writing application (e.g., Nero, Roxio, etc.) can be better used for selective back ups. Above all, backing up to at least 2 different types of media is always recommended, especially when data compression occurs. |
