Hi,
I've got a sagem ADSL modem as supplied by the ISP. It's been working fine with absolutely no problems. Now, for no apparent reason, it is sometimes recognised by the computer or sometimes not. During boot-up both lights go out on the modem as usual, then they come back on (normally) a second or two later. At the moment they don't. I have to restart the computer upto five or six times until the modem works. Once the computer has fully booted I cannot get the computer to recognise the modem without restarting the system. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem is here? Regards. Gavin |

The answer to this was that i had changed the start-up settings using
msconfig and xp didn't like this and changed the settings so that the computer booted into selective mode - which meant the usb drivers weren't installing.
