Default Frustration with Validation

I tried to download a trial copy of OneNote.

As part of the process, MS validated my copy of XP, or didn't in my case.

I have an IBM thinkpad with OEM XP Pro installation and product key on the
case. I have spent the last two hours trying to figure out how to fix this
problem and more importantly find a way to contact MS, and surprise,
surprise, can't because this isn't a legal copy.

There has got to be a straightforward way to revalidate this installation
with the product key so I can get on with things.

Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) validation check process does not
complete when you try to validate your copy of Windows XP or Windows

Try contacting IBM. It is their problem because they provided the
Windows XP and the product key.

Good luck
