Default Standby

I have a simple question. How are you supposed to bring a computer out of
stand-by or hibernation. I have a laptop and set the system to go standby
with a power scheme. It does this but then I am not sure how to bring it
out. I thought that moving the touchpad or pressing any key would do it, but
it doesn't. I then have to hit the power button and it seems to shut the
computer down... then I hit the power button a second time to turn it on.
Am I missing a simple step here?

Default Re: Standby

Your laptop manual would surely tell you how to do this. It varies make by
make.
