There is no way to turn on the Windows firewall. On the Control Panel |
Windows Firewall General tab all options [On (recommended); Don't allow...; Off] are disabled. However, the Advanced tab tells that firewall is enabled for my connections. Checking in the command promt with the 'netsh firewall show state' command results 'disabled. Whats wrong? |

Do you have a third-party firewall installed or an antivirus/Internet security program? Examples are ZoneAlarm, Norton AV 2005/06, Norton Internet Security, McAfee, etc. It sounds like a third-party program is protecting you. Open the Security Center applet in Control Panel and click on the double-arrow button in the Firewall section to see. Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!"
