Please help! Everytime I try to download a software program from my cd or
floppy I get the following error message; C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt The system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications. Choose close to terminate the application. Even if I type in command.com in my run box the same message comes up. Can someone please help me? Thank you. |

Everytime I try to download a software program from my cd or | floppy I get the following error message; | C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt | The system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows | applications. Most times this error can be resolved by copying the file "autoexec.nt" from C:\WINDOWS\REPAIR to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32. (note: you may have to adjust your folder view to show hidden/system files) If that doesn't do the trick see; http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=324767 There is an automated fix @ http://www2.whidbey.net/djdenham/16bit_fix.htm Frequently this problem crops up as a result of changes made by ad/spy/malware so you may want to consider doing some system maintenance. See; http://www.dslreports.com/faq/spyware and http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm -- Doug I'm not an MVP a VIP nor do I have ESP. I was just trying to help.
