I want to customize which programs start up with my computer. And eliminate
the icons in the lower right (next to clock) for programs that I don't use. I was told to run MS Config. Is this correct or is there another method? Thanx -- Nicholas |

Msconfig is a troubleshooting utility/function. Really is not correct method
for disabling icons in system tray. "Some" of the icons come from Programs/Startup. This is a good place to start for removing unwanted program running when starting up. The "other" icons in system tray are more complex. Possible yuo would have to uninstall/remove application/program (Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs) in order to remove icon from system tray. Of course, on most icons yuo can click on them to see what app/program is putting the icon in system tray. -- Dennis S. I''m from Illinois. I hope I helped you. Good Luck. If I was not clear, for items in Startup (Start>Programs>Startup). You can
select rt click and then delete to remove. or you can go to directly yo Startup Folder using My Computer or Windows Explorer. C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup of course match yuor drive letter. Mine is "C". See above. -- Dennis S. I''m from Illinois. I hope I helped you. Good Luck.
