When I boot up my computer I receive the message -- Floppy disk(s) fail (40)
Press F1 to continue.

Any suggestions as to what would cause this and how to fix it?

This is a Hardware issue. This error occurs before any OS begins to load.
Either disable your floppy drive in your system BIOS or find out what is
physically wrong with your floppy disk drive.
