I recently (about 4-5 weeks ago) installed Norton Internet Security 2006 and have been having performance issues since then. The main issue is with MS Outlook - when I fire up the computer and subsequently start Outlook, it does an initial Send/Receive and locks up somewhere around 85% of the Send/Receive. It stays at 85% and shows "Not Responding" on the task manager until I 'End Process.' Along with this issue, the CPU Usage has been at 100% with outlook.exe, msnmgr.exe, explorer.exe, WINWORD.exe usually taking the majority of of the processing (95%+). I have disable the feature of NIS 2006 which scans outgoing messages because I was unable to send anything after installing the software. Is this an issue with the Outlook S/R process getting held up by NIS? Is NIS having trouble with my wireless internet? Is it a compatibility issue with MS programs that utilize my Internet connection (Outlook, Messenger, Explorer)? Any help you guys can provide will be a huge help!! Thanks in advance. -- BrandNew |
