I am trying to back up files onto a CD-R disc but every time I try to do this
I get the message to "Insert a writable disc to continue" and that there is no disc in the drive, which is not true, of course. I have tried putting in a different disc and same problem. I have checked all the device drives and everything tells me that they are all working properly. I have an ASUS CRW-5232AS burner, if that helps. Any suggestions? |

I have a DVD drive and a separate CD burner. The DVD drive works and I can
play music CD and DVDs without a problem. Thanks. "Dixonian69" wrote: > do you have more than one CD/DVD connected to computer? > -- > Dennis S. > I''m from Illinois. I hope I helped you. is this a new drive?
has it worked before? have you changed anything? what software are yuo using? -- Dennis S. I''m from Illinois. I hope I helped you. Good Luck. I have had the computer for more than a year and I got the drives with the
computer. I've actually only used the burner once before and remembered I had a problem with something and got some input from someone and then it worked. I can't remember though what the problem was. But yes, I did transfer files to a disc and it worked. You can't insult me since I know I'm just faking my way through solving this problem. Any suggestions you might have, feel free. Maybe the program is looking at the wrong drive, but I wouldn't know what to do about it. I just know that the CD wizard won't let me continue until I insert a disc in the drive and there's already a disc in the drive. Thanks for your help. Is there a drop down tab/arrow next to drive where it says no disk installed?
Should show your burner and cdrom. Do you know what software you are using? -- Dennis S. I''m from Illinois. I hope I helped you. Good Luck. I'm not sure I understand the question. If you mean on the window where it
tells me that, no, it's just the CD Writing Wizard page with a line that says "Insert a writable disc to continue." Then in the brown part of the window it says, 'There is not disc in the drive." and then under that is says, "Please insert a writable CD into drive E:\" and then under that an explanation of what a writable disc is. Then I have the option at the bottom of going either back, next or to cancel. That's all. And it won't do anything when I click on either back or next. Oh, sorry, forgot to mention that I'm using Nero and/or InCD. At this point
I'm not sure how any of it works. After all this nonsense I thought maybe I would upgrade the Nero so I did to version 7. But that didn't help either.
