Default system error message

windows stops and displays an error screen. the error message detail displayed
"win32k.sys"
Does this mean that this file is corupt?
Do I need to reinstall windows?

Try Start, Run, type "sfc /scannow" without quotes and hit Enter.

I am fairly certain that there is more information on the Window than
just the single word "win32k.sys".

We need the *complete verbatim* text of the error message, exactly as
it appears on the screen, including any error code and parameters as
well as the module name(s).

With that additional detail we should be able to assist you in
resolving this problem, but without it there is not very much we can
do.
