Default USB Ports

Hi

I have two at the front and two at the back.

The front pair have died.
Could this be a software problem?
Does each port require a separate driver?
System is XP home edition, service pack 1.

They may have a separate installation of the same driver.

there is a one USB controller for front and one for rear.

Check Device Manager for red or yellow markers next to the controller.

You haven't been inside computer and knocked any connections lose?

Strange occurrence!!!

Haven't changed anything in computer bios?
