A new entry has appeared on the services console in Administrative tools. If
I try to change any setting, a 'file not found' message pops up. I found the same key in the registry attached to a key named Legacy. What is this entry and what does it do?And how do I get rid of it from the services console?Deleting the key from the registry is not possible as the Registry Editor does not allow the deletion. |

Have you checked for viruses and for spyware?
Look in the System and Application logs in Event Viewer for Error and Warning Reports over the last two days when the computer was used and post copies here. You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer. HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP http://support.microsoft.com/default...&Product=winxp A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a button resembling two pages. Double click the button and close Event Viewer. Now start your message(email) and do a paste into the body of the message. This will paste the info from the Event Viewer Error Report complete with links into the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from Event Viewer. Hope this helps. Checked for spyware/ viruses with Search & Destroy,Adaware and Norton
Antivirus 2005. All definations were up to date. As it is, I'm not encountering any errors in normal windows functions, but just want to know whatever's happening on my PC.
