I have the cd rom and put it in the drive during startup and a box says it
wont continue because the version I am trying to install is older than what I already have installed. Is there any way around this? And if I do manage to do it, will it wipe the hard drive in the process? Thanks a lot. |

Hi
You may be able to slipstream the XP CD you have: http://www.msfn.org/articles.php?act...showarticle=49 and then perform a 'Repair' install of XP. Pleas see the following article by Michael Stevens; "How to Perform a Windows XP Repair Install" http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm -- Will Denny MS MVP Windows Shell/User Please reply to the News Groups "steve" <steve@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:B6EB90F5-73AD-410C-AE46-7FF24C3ED8BA@microsoft.com... >I have the cd rom and put it in the drive during startup and a box says it > wont continue because the version I am trying to install is older than > what I > already have installed.
